College football conference realignment isn't over quite yet. On Tuesday, the Navy Midshipmen will announce that the school is joining the Big East as a football-only entity in 2015, reports CBS Sports' Brett McMurphy. This comes over a month after it was announced that the Boise St. Broncos, the San Diego St. Aztecs, the UCF Knights, the Houston Cougars and the SMU Mustangs will join the league in 2013 (the former two as football-only members).
For Navy, this ends 130 years as playing as an independent in football. They play other sports as members of the Patriot League. While remaining there for the other sports, Navy will become the 11th member of the Big East in 2015.
The Air Force Falcons had been targeted by the Big East during last year's expansion but decided to stay with the Mountain West. But, of course, people are already speculating that something could change.
