The Mountain West Conference will undergo several changes over the next two years. Those changes, of course, will be the addition of the Boise St. Broncos in 2011 and of the Fresno St. Bulldogs, the Hawaii Warriors (football only) and the Nevada Wolf Pack in 2012. As well, the BYU Cougars go independent and the Utah Utes leave this summer for the Pac-12 and the TCU Horned Frogs head to the Big East in 2012.
↵But that won't be the only change to the conference. Be prepared to bid adieu to the old MWC logo and welcome a brand new, but still secretive logo for the conference. The Star-Advertiser in Hawai'i has more:
↵↵↵The University of Hawaii's future football home, the Mountain West Conference, will roll out a hush-hush new logo next month as part of efforts to market its changing look.
↵Even some conference members say they might not see the secret new logo until its scheduled June 6 rollout.
↵
Well, there better be some mountains in it still, but the producers of the logo will likely want to make some sort acknowledgement on Hawai'i in there. Like how the Big Ten had that '1' embedded in its old logo for the then-11-team conference. Whatever this logo looks like, it can't be any worse than the one the Big Ten Plus Two has now.
