2011 Bowl Projections: Air Force To Military Bowl, Says ESPN

It's looking clearer now that the Military Bowl presented By Northrop Grumman will look to invite the Air Force Falcons on Sunday, Dec. 4. The Falcons became bowl eligible when they defeated the Colorado St. Rams on Saturday.

ESPN's Mark Schlabach and Brad Edwards are both in agreement about the Falcons will head to the Military Bowl, which is played on Dec. 28 in Washington, D.C.'s, Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium. Navy, situated in Annapolis, usually has the tie-in to this game, but the Midshipmen aren't bowl eligible this season. Conference USA usually fills in if Navy can't go, but there doesn't appear to be a team able to go. Choosing another service academies works well here.

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons finished 6-6 and are projected to be Air Force's opponent. Air Force is 1-0 all-time against the Deacons, a 42-0 victory back in 1998, for whatever that may be worth.
