The Air Force Falcons attained bowl eligibility on Saturday when they defeated the Colorado St. Rams. It was their seventh win of the season, but for bowl purposes the Academy has just six wins. Two victories came against FCS teams and bowl criteria states that only one of those counts per season.
But at 7-5 the Falcons can go bowling, and Scout.con projects the Military Bowl for the team. The Northrop Grumman-sponsored game takes place on Dec. 28 in Washington, D.C., at Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium. The projected opponent is North Carolina, an ACC team. The Falcons would actually be taking this bowl spot from a Conference USA team, which has a bowl tie-in here, and Navy. The Midshipmen are not bowl eligible and no C-USA team is expected to be eligible.
And, let's face it, the Military Bowl needs to have one of the nation's service academies there, pending team eligibility.
