2011 Bowl Projections: Military Bowl Looks Like Good Fit For Air Force

The Air Force Falcons still need to win the season finale against the Colorado St. Rams on Saturday, but if they do pick up the victory, the Military Bowl could be calling for them. Both ESPN and Scout.com project the Falcons to participate in the Dec. 28 game in Washington, D.C.

The Navy Midshipmen would have had the tie-in to this bowl game, but the team is not bowl-eligible this season. Also, Conference USA has a tie-in for that spot, but there aren't any teams that project for this bowl. That allows the Northrop Grumman-sponsored bowl to take another service academy, the Air Force Falcons.

The Falcons will face an ACC opponent, and right now the North Carolina Tar Heels and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons could make the bowl.
