Big East Expansion: BYU Could Join Soon, Be In West Division With Air Force, Boise State

Big East expansion talks continue to meander on and the latest rumors are the BYU Cougars could announce their acceptance of an invitation to the conference, reports the Salt Lake Tribune. The Cougars are expected to be a football-only member of the conference and be part of the West division.

If this reports holds true and the Air Force Falcons and the Boise St. Broncos move from the Mountain West to the Big East, those three teams will make up part of the West division. SMU, Houston and Central Florida would likely complete the six-team division while Navy and the five remaining teams already in the conference would be the East division. UCF is the odd team out here since they are Eastern teams, but it appears Cincinnati and Louisville don't want to move to the West.

We've all heard earlier reports of teams accepting invites or to be on the cusp of doing so and then dragging it out for weeks. Stay tuned.
