Wyoming Vs. Air Force Final Score: Cowboys Overcome Falcons, 25-17

For the first time while at the helm of the Wyoming Cowboys, head coach Dave Christensen has defeated the Air Force Falcons, 25-17. Windy conditions greatly affected this game, especially when it came to punting, but the Cowboys came up with a late touchdown to secure the victory.

Wyoming scored in the first and second quarters on a Brett Smith run and a Brett Smith pass. On the former, kicked Daniel Sullivan missed the extra point while on the latter the two-point conversion failed. Entering halftime with a 12-7 lead, the Cowboys saw that disappear after Parker Herrington kicked a 35-yard field goal and Mike DeWitt.

But it was Wyoming's game in the fourth quarter. Brett Smith rushed for his second touchdown of the game on a two-yard run. They failed on the second two-point conversion of the game. The Falcons were able to get the ball at their own 41-yard line to start a late drive, but on a Connor Dietz lateral to Brandon Hirneise, Hirneise fumbled the ball. Marqueston Huff picked the ball up and ran it in for a 48-yard score with 25 seconds left in the game.

The Falcons are now 5-5 overall and 1-4 in the Mountain West. They will need to defeat UNLV at home and Colorado State on the road to become bowl eligible (with two victories over FCS teams this season, only one counts toward eligibility).
