2011 Bowl Projections: Colorado State To The New Mexico Bowl?

The Colorado State Rams have lost four consecutive games and sit two games below .500 with four to play, but there is at least one pundit who believes the Rams can reach bowl eligibility this season. Phil Steele thinks the Rams could land in the New Mexico Bowl and face Northern Illinois.

Colorado State is coming off a devastating loss on the road to a dreadful UNLV team; if they're to find their way to six or seven wins, they're going to have to right the ship in a hurry. Assuming they drop their road game at Texas Christian, they'd need to win all of the other remaining games--against San Diego State, Air Force and Wyoming--in order to reach 6-6 and bowl eligibility. That's feasible, perhaps, and all three of those contests are in Ft. Collins, but the Rams figure to be underdogs from here on out.
