The Boise St. Broncos struck first in their game with the Air Force Falcons. Quarterback Kellen Moore went a perfect 5-of-5 for 57 yards and a touchdown pass on the drive. Moore effortlessly placed the ball into Tyler Shoemaker's hands for the score, mostly as a result of the Air Force safeties not helping in pass coverage on the left side of the end zone.
On Air Force's ensuing drive, the Falcons started things off with a 23-yard run by Jonathan Warzeka and reached as far as the Boise State 35-yard line, but the drive stalled and wound up at Boise 49-yard line after three straight plays for negative yards. Tim Jefferson was sacked for a loss of eight yards on the final play before the punt.
