Army, Air Force 2012 Game Moved From Yankee Stadium Due To Possible Conflict

The Air Force Falcons were expected to play the Army Black Knights at Yankee Stadium next season, but plans for that have changed due to a potential conflict with the New York Yankees, and now the game will be played at Michie Stadium which is the home of Army football. The game is to be played Nov. 3, 2012 and that could fall on a Game 6 or Game 7 World Series date.

"This change to our 2012 schedule will provide our fan base with a tremendous slate of games at Michie Stadium next year," Army Director of Athletics Boo Corrigan said. "With the strong possibility of a conflict with the Yankees' postseason schedule, we felt it was in everyone's best interests to return the game to West Point at this time. While we are excited about our continuing series at Yankee Stadium, our fans look forward to welcoming Air Force to Michie Stadium every other year. We are excited about working with our friends at the Yankees to host our game against Rutgers there next month and about continuing our series of games there in 2014."
