2010 Independence Bowl: Air Force And Georgia Tech Receive Swag

It's bowl season, so that means it's time for college athletes to receive gifts from those institutions sponsoring the contests. The Air Force Falcons and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will travel to Shreveport, La. for the Dec. 27, 2010 Independence Bowl. What king of swag will the players receive?

The Sports Business Journal has a list of gifts that will be given to bowl participants. Players from the Air Force Falcons and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will receive an electronics gift package, a Timely Watch Co. watch, a New Era hat and a souvenir hat. That's not a bad haul.

Consider Boise State and Utah in the Las Vegas Bowl. Both teams had BCS aspirations and now settle for a trip to Vegas. What do they receive? An electronics gift suite. Oh, how the thought-to-be mighty fell.

Among other interesting gifts other bowls are providing include an iPod touch (R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl), an Xbox 360 4 GB system (Beef 'O' Brady's St. Petersburg Bowl, a $420 shopping spree at a local Best Buy (Champs Sport Bowl) and a Nikon S70 touchsreen camaera package (GoDaddy.com Bowl).

The Cotton Bowl has not disclosed their gifts, but last year a 32-inch Vizio LCD HDTV and a watch were provded.

The National Championship participants, Auburn and Oregon, receive and electronics gift suite, a Fossil watch, a cap and a Ogio Cooper backpack. I guess playing for the National Championship is also an added benefit.
