The win gives the Falcons their first Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy since 2002 and their 17th in school history.

Nathan Walker added 109 yards on the ground with a touchdown in the win for Air Force (6-4), while Asher Clark ran for 89 yards. Jefferson gained 57 yards on just 11 totes for the Falcons, while Jonathan Warzeka’s two receptions were good for 116 yards and two scores.

Jared Hassin ran for 114 yards for lead Army (5-4) in the losing effort, while Trent Steelman added 60 yards on the ground as well. Steelman also completed 6-of-12 passes for 81 yards with a touchdown and an interception as well for the Black Knights.

Alex Carlton connected on field goals from 30 and 41 yards, respectively, during the first quarter to give the Black Knights a 6-0 lead.

Jefferson got the Falcons on the board for the first time of the afternoon following a three-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter, while a 53- yard toss from Jefferson to Warzeka just minutes later gave the Falcons a 14-6 lead.

Army cut the Falcons lead to 14-13 midway through the stanza with an 18-yard scoring scamper from Jacob Bohn, but the Falcons found the end zone again with under a minute remaining in the half with a two-yard Walker plunge to take a 21-13 lead into the break.

The Black Knights added a 46-yard Carlton field goal late in the third quarter, while the Falcons padded its advantage late in the stanza with a 63- yard strike from Jefferson to Warzeka.

A 52-yard fumble recovery by Jordan Waiwaiole early in the final period of play extended the Falcons lead to 35-16.

Steelman hooked up with Austin Barr for a nine-yard score midway through the frame, but a two-point conversion attempt failed to leave the Black Knights trailing by a 35-22 deficit.

The Falcons added a one-yard Jefferson plunge just minutes later to close out the scoring and account for the final score of the contest.
