Air Force vs. UC Riverside: Falcons travel to take on Highlanders

Air Force plays the first of three consecutive road games at UC Riverside on Saturday.

Ron Chenoy-US PRESSWIRE

The Air Force Falcons hit the road on Saturday to play the UC Riverside Highlanders in the first ever meeting between the two teams.

Air Force (7-2) has fared well so far this season through a rather soft non-conference schedule as they continue to prepare for Mountain West play. The Falcons have wins over Army and Montana while their two losses came at the hands of Wichita State and Colorado.

Senior guard Michael Lyons continues to pace the Falcons with 20.3 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.

The Highlanders (3-8) have struggled through a challenging schedule so far with just three wins to show for their efforts, highlighted by beating Northern Colorado. UC Riverside relies on junior small forward Chris Harriel to lead the way with 11 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.

The Highlanders will also try to take advantage of 6'10 forward Chris Patton around the rim. Patton averages almost 10 points and 5.6 rebounds per game for the Highlanders.

The game is scheduled to tip off at 2 p.m. MT and can be heard in Colorado Springs on AM 740 KVOR.
