The Denver Broncos have a sudden hole at defensive end after losing Elvis Dumervil in the most bizarre snafu of the offseason. An attempt to reconcile with and re-sign Dumervil fell through, and he went to Baltimore. Now the Broncos have an obvious need to address in the 2013 NFL Draft.
SB Nation's Dan Kadar and Matthew Fairburn released their latest mock draft on Monday. In it, they have Denver selecting Florida State DE Tank Carradine:
After the Elvis Dumervil fiasco, the Broncos could be in the market for a defensive end. For a team with as strong a roster as Denver's, Tank Carradine would make a ton of sense. He may not be back to full strength at the beginning of the season after tearing his ACL in November, but the upside he presents at the defensive end spot is higher than any player in this class. If he's healthy by mid-season, the rest of the league will be kicking itself.
By all accounts, Carradine's ACL rehab is going well, and he hopes to workout in front of scouts before the draft in late April. A top 10 talent when healthy, Carradine could end up being one of the ultimate value picks in this year's draft.
