The Denver Broncos hold the 28th pick in the NFL Draft, and with the Combine almost in the books, we should start to see a much clearer picture of how the draft boards will shake out.
SB Nation's Matthew Fairburn released his latest mock draft on Monday. In it, he has the Broncos taking Purdue defensive tackle Kawann Short:
Fun fact: Kawann Short actually goes by K.K. That's how he was announced at the NFL Scouting Combine. After a solid Senior Bowl, K.K. should be considered in the later part of the first round.
The Broncos have some holes up front with Kevin Vickerson and Justin Bannan up for free agency. The team has few obvious holes on the roster, but they could use some youth on the defense, and a guy like Short would be a quality upgrade to the front seven.
