The 2013 NFL Combine will run from Feb. 20 through Feb. 26, with workouts beginning Saturday Feb. 23. Special teamers, offensive linemen and tight ends will be the first players running through the gauntlet of medical exams, mental probing, physical tests and position drills. Colorado offensive lineman David Bakhtiari and tight end Nick Kasa will both be looking to prove their mettle at the event.
Bakhtiari declared for the NFL Draft after his junior year. He could have used another year of seasoning, if SB Nation's Dan Kadar has anything to say about it. He ranks Bakhtiari as the 19th-best offensive tackle entering April's draft. The Buffaloes are undergoing a coaching change after a 1-11 season, however, so there's a chance that Bakhtiari was discouraged at the prospect of another bad season.
Kasa was a senior, so he had no choice but to try his hand at the next level. He was left off of Kadar's tight end rankings, so he will be looking to convince NFL teams that he is worth a later round pick. Kasa had 25 receptions for 391 yards and three touchdowns in 2012. While those look like underwhelming numbers, he 55 yards shy of leading the team in receiving.
The offensive skill positions will go through drills Sunday, followed the next day by defensive linemen and linebackers, and finally defensive backs on Tuesday. NFL Network will have have full television coverage every day, beginning at 9 a.m. ET. You can also check out a live stream at NFL.com.
