UTEP vs. Colorado State: Rams' undefeated home record on the line

Colorado State will attempt to keep its strong play at home going and extend its winning streak when it faces UTEP at Moby Arena.

USA TODAY Sports

The Colorado St. Rams will take on the UTEP Miners on Wednesday night at Moby Arena, where the Rams have had great success, dating back to last season. In their 2011-12 campaign and through the first two months of this season, Colorado State is 21-1 at home, including a streak of 20-straight wins. The last time the Rams suffered a loss on their floor was to Southern Miss on Nov. 19, 2011.

This season, the Rams have winning streaks of six and five games, sandwiched around a pair of road losses in early December. The five-game streak is ongoing and during the run, Colorado State hasn't scored fewer than 70 points. A big part of the Rams' success has come through rebounding, an area where they rank ninth in the country with 42.7 per game.

UTEP, meanwhile, has won five of its last six contests after struggling through four-straight losses early in the year. One of those victories was a triple-overtime thriller against Oregon on Dec. 19. The meeting with Colorado State will be the final game for the Miners before they begin conference play on Jan. 9.
