Air Force vs. Richmond: Falcons travel for meeting with Richmond

The Air Force Falcons will head on the road to take on the Richmond Spiders, who have dropped their last three games.

The Air Force Falcons will attempt to get back on track when they clash with the Richmond Spiders on the road on Wednesday night. Both teams are coming off losses at home and will be tested one last time in their out-of-conference schedule before conference play begins.

After stringing together five-straight wins in the first half of December, the Spiders struggled to close out the calendar year by dropping their last three. Against the then-No. 9 Kansas Jayhawks on Dec. 18, Richmond allowed a season-high 87 points in an 18-point loss, its second-widest margin of defeat.

The Falcons didn't fare too much better against a ranked opponent in their last game against the then-No. 14 Florida Gators. Air Force fell 78-61 after getting outscored by 15 points in the second half and shot a relatively low 40.4 percent, despite ranking 19th in the country in field goal percentage at .485.

Following the game, Air Force returns home to open up play against the Mountain West when it takes on Nevada on Jan. 9. Richmond, meanwhile, will host Atlantic 10 foe Rhode Island on the same night.
