The Denver Broncos' 13-3 season ended in disappointment after an upset playoff loss to the Baltimore Ravens, so what will be the key in getting further in the postseason next year? In addition to acquiring Peyton Manning last offseason, Denver also signed tight ends Jacob Tamme and Joel Dreessen as bookends around the offensive line. They were fairly productive, with Tamme catching 52 passes for 555 yards and Dreessen adding 41 for 356, but will they continue to move that direction in the draft?
Dane Brugler of CBS Sports thinks so, projecting Notre Dame tight end Tyler Eifert to Denver at pick no. 28:
The Broncos have Peyton Manning for the next year or two and should put as many weapons around him as possible. Joel Dreessen and Jacob Tamme are both solid players, but neither have the playmaking ability of the athletic tight end out of Notre Dame.
Either Eifert or Stanford tight end Zach Ertz are the top available players at their position in the draft this year. Either could make an outstanding addition to the Denver offense.
