After a two-year break, the Utah Utes (1-0) and the Utah State Aggies (1-0) resume one of the longest-running rivalry games in college football history on Friday night. The Utes are on a 12-game winning streak in this series, dating to an uninterrupted stretch from 1998-2009.
The road team Utes ran roughshod over the FCS Northern Colorado Bears, 41-0, in Week 1. Quarterback Jordan Wynn passed for 200 yards and threw two touchdown passes. John White IV rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown. SB Nation's Utah blog, Block U, certainly isn't taking this game likely and believes there is potential for the Aggies to win in an upset at home.
Utah State, similarly, is coming off a 34-3 win against an FCS team, the Southern Utah Thunderbirds. The Aggies piled up nearly 600 total yards of offense, 306 passing yards by quarterback Chuckie Keeton alone. Joe Hill rushed for 116 yards and found the end zone three times.
Utah State, as a home underdog, will look to create some magic on a nationally televised ESPN2 game, but will that be enough to capture an upset victory?
