After a week off, the No. 14 ranked Air Force Falcons head back to California, and will be taking part of the SoCal tournament on Sept. 29-30. This tournament is very similar to the NorCal tournament which featured the top 12 teams in the country, as does this tournament.
Air Force's first game is going to be against the No. 3 ranked California Golden Bears, and this is a repeat matchup from the first round of the SoCal tournament where Cal easily won 19-2. Not sure that Air Force can get the win over Cal, but this game should be much closer this time around. For Air Force to have a shot against Cal they will need starting goalie Mike Fish to have an amazing game. If he can hold Cal to under 10 goals, then Air Force may have a chance.
Their opening round game against Call will be at 11:40 a.m. MT.
The second game will be against either UC-Irvine or UC Davis on Saturday night. In all likelihood Air Force will be battling for 13th place, as they did in the NorCal tournament. That means they will be playing the likes of St. Francis, Santa Clara or Princeton on Sunday.
Here is the SoCal tournament bracket:
