Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller has been fined by the NFL for a hit on Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub during last Sunday's game.
The Denver Post's Mike Klis reports that Miller was fined $15,750 for "unnecessarily" driving Schaub in to the ground. Miller told reporters he had no comment on the fine, adding that he would appeal the league's decision. Miller wasn't the only Bronco docked financially in the wake of game against the Texans. Joe Mays was fined $50,000 and suspended one game for a hit on Schaub that took off part of the quarterback's ear when his helmet was knocked from his head.
Keith Brooking will start in Mays' place Sunday against the Oakland Raiders. The Broncos will also be without safety Quinton Carter. Linebacker Nate Irving is listed as questionable as he recovers from a concussion he suffered against the Texans. Guard Chris Kuper is listed as doubtful after being limited all week with a forearm injury.
