Jay Cutler Status Update: Bears QB Won't Play Vs. Broncos, According To Report

According to a report from a radio station in Chicago, Bears quarterback Jay Cutler will not start Thursday night's exhibition game against the Denver Broncos. Bears defensive end Julius Peppers is also expected to skip the game.

Because of the increased threat of injury that comes with rain, and insignificance that comes with a preseason game, the Bears will not play quarterback Jay Cutler or defensive end Julius Peppers in the preseason game tonight against the Broncos at Soldier Field, according to Chicago radio station WBBM.

The rainy conditions in Chicago led to officials placing a tarp on the field hours ahead of kickoff, and it appears that some lightning in the area has forced the field to be cleared for the time being.
