The 2012 PGA Championship has nearly wrapped its Thursday action, and Colorado St. Rams graduate Martin Laird is well in the thick of it with a No. 23 spot while sitting at 1-under. Laird bogeyed on holes No. 6 and No.15, but birdies at No. 7, No. 8 and No. 10 propelled him back into contention.
Carl Pettersson of Sweden currently leads the tournament with 6-under after collecting six birdies with no bogeys. The trio of Gary Woodland, Rory McIlroy and Joost Luiten are all in hot pursuit of Pettersson. The trio is tied with 5-under, with Luiten still on the course.
