The Colorado Rockies enter Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers in rare territory; with a victory, they would earn just their second series sweep on the 2012 season. Behind effective pitching performances by Drew Pomeranz and Alex White, the Rockies' pitching staff has limited the Dodgers offense to just a single run in two games at Dodger Stadium. Rookie shortstop Josh Rutledge has been incredible in his first MLB exposure, batting .356 in his first 22 games.
Colorado sends veteran Jeff Francis (3-4, 6.02) to the mound. Francis has easily been the Rockies' best starter this season since signing as a free agent, but he has struggled recently, allowing five or more earned runs in three of his past four starts.
The Dodgers will send Chad Billingsley (7-9, 3.74) to the mound, hoping to regain some momentum and stay in the NL West Division race. Billingsley has been extremely effective recently, allowing just two earned runs in his last 20.1 innings pitched.
First pitch is scheduled for 8:10pm MT and will be broadcast on ROOT and 850 KOA
