Willamette University alum Nick Symmonds will compete in the semifinals of the men's 800 meter race on Tuesday at the Olympics. Symmonds is slated to run in the second of three heats on the day. Symmonds will be in lane six and will face eight other competitors in his heat. He is one of two Americans competing in the 800 meter semifinals, along with Duane Solomon, who will race in heat three.
Track and field is far from the only activity on London on the day. Cycling will hand out medals in the women's sprint and men's keirin. Diving semifinals and finals will also take place in the men's three meter springboard. Gynamastics medals will be up for grabs in the men's parallel bars, women's balance beam, men's horizontal bar and women's floor exercise, as well.
