Eastern Washington Vs. Idaho: Game Time, TV Schedule And More

The Idaho Vandals open their last season as a member of the WAC with a home contest against FCS Eastern Washington.

The Idaho Vandals start their last year as a member of the Western Athletic Conference on Thursday with a contest against the FCS Eastern Washington Eagles, but, unlike other members of the WAC, Idaho doesn't have a home once the 2012 season ends. With WAC football taking at least a one-year hiatus, Idaho is looking at independence.

The Vandals won just two games during the 2011 season, beating FCS North Dakota and the San Jose St. Spartans, a WAC team moving to the Mountain West in 2013. Idaho will look toward quarterback Dominique Blackman, wide receivers Justin Veltung and Mike Scott and cornerback Aaron Grymes to improve the team's performance this year.

Eastern Washington is coming off a 6-5 2011 campaign and the graduation of quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell, the Walter Payton Award winner last season. Taking over for the 4,000-yard passer will be SMU transfer Kyle Padron, who follows Mitchell's footsteps as a transfer from the Mustangs to the Eagles. Eastern Washington won the 2010 FCS Championship.

Game time/date: 7 p.m. MT, Thursday, Aug. 30

Location: Kibbie Dome, Moscow, Idaho

TV Schedule: ESPN3
