Missy Franklin has already caught the attention of the entire sporting world with her swimming at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, but she can add to her performance on Friday as she competes in the 200m backstroke final. Franklin already has two gold medals and a bronze medal, but the 17-year-old could add a third gold on Friday.
After placing a disappointing fifth in the 100m freestyle final, Franklin looks to respond on Friday by getting back ahead of the pack. In addition to competing in the big 200m backstroke final, Franklin will also be swimming 4x100m medley relay heats as well.
Beyond Franklin's key appearance on Friday, all eyes will presumably be on the Olympic Aquatic Center during men's competition as Michael Phelps competes in the last individual race of his Olympic career, the 100m butterfly final.
Track and field competition begins in London on Friday, too, including the medal events for the women's 10,000m and the men's shot put. Meanwhile, tennis play continues at Wimbledon, where Serena Williams will try to maintain her success in singles against Victoria Azarenka of Belarus.
