The Barclays 2012: Martin Laird Moves Up 24 Spots On Leaderboard

With a strong showing on Friday thus far, former Colorado State golfer, Martin Laird, has surged up the leaderboard at the 2012 Barclays tournament, up 24 spots from his finish on Thursday, thanks to four birdies through 15 holes.

With birdies on two par-3s (holes three and eight) and birdies on two par-5 (holes four and 13), Laird is 3-under par on Friday, 4-under par overall and three strokes behind tournament leader Padraig Harrington, who will be teeing off for his Friday round later in the afternoon.

Laird, a Scotland-native, was in a tie for the No. 35 spot on the leaderboard after shooting a 70 in round one on Thursday, but is up to a tie for the No. 11 spot with eight other golfers after his first 15 holes on Friday.
