Padraig Harrington, who fired a seven under par 64 on Thursday to take a one-shot lead in The Barclays, is scheduled to start his second round at 12:22 Friday afternoon. He will be paired once again with Ted Potter, Jr. and Troy Matteson, with whom he played his opening round. Nick Watney, whose six-under 65 put him just one shot back of Harrington, will begin his second round on Bethpage Black at 12:33. Thursday's other 65 was shot by Brian Harman, who starts at 1:17.
The group drawing the most attention on Friday, much as they did Thursday, will be the 1:06 tee time of Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and Zach Johnson. After engaging in some pre-tournament trash talk, world No. 1 McIlroy and No. 3 Woods seemed at ease Thursday. Both players got off to solid starts, with Woods' -3 putting him in a tie for 14th and besting McIlroy's round by one shot. Zach Johnson, lost in the hype surrounding the McIlroy-Woods pairing, also finished his round at -3.
As for other notable groups, the international trio of Adam Scott, Sergio Garcia and Louis Oosthuizen tee off at 12:44 from the tenth tee box. The world's second-ranked player, Luke Donald, will also start at 12:44, with Phil Mickelson and Scott Piercy from the first tee. Bubba Watson, who started the day fifth in the FedEx Cup standings and shot a one-under 70, starts on the back nine at 8:16 with Hunter Mahan and Carl Pettersson.
Former Colorado State player Martin Laird begins his second round at 8:05 after firing a one-under 70 Thursday. Boise State's Graham DeLaet plays at 8:38 with Davis Love III and Jeff Maggert, looking to improve on his first-round 75.
Television coverage begins at 1:00 CT on Golf Channel.
