The first round of the 2012 Barclays begins Thursday morning at Bethpage State Park in Farmington, N.Y. It is an elite field of golfers competing in the beginning of FedEx Cup postseason play.

Martin Laird, who is currently 31st in the FedEx Cup point system, is still looking to redeem himself after losing in a playoff to Matt Kuchar in 2012. The 29-year-old Colorado State alumnus hasn't had much success since tying for second in the Players Championship back in May, but has always seemed to play well in the Barclays. Laird also finished seventh in the event in 2009.

Tiger Woods currently sits as the leader in the FedEx Cup standings, with Jason Dufner and Rory McIlroy rounding out the top three. Last year's Barclays champion Dustin Johnson comes in at 26th and will try to build off last year's tournament record-tying score of 19-under.
