Colorado Rapids president Tim Hinchey hinted on twitter before the weekend that a big signing was coming soon, and it looks like he was correct as the Rapids have reportedly inked former Wigan Athletic midfielder Hendry Thomas to a contract. Reports out of Honduras reported the signing was complete, along with a picture of Thomas in a Rapids jersey.
The Rapids have not made an official report on the signing as of yet, though they had confirmed they were looking to sign Thomas and he was in Colorado on Sunday.
Thomas is the most recent pick up in what has been a busy year of transfers for the Rapids in the midfield. They had formerly signed Harrison Henao for the defensive midfield but he was released after scarse appearances with the first team. Thomas has been a mainstay on the Honduran national team for years and played 55 appearances with Wigan over the last three seasons.
