Rory McIlroy now has a second major championship victory to go with his 2011 U.S. Open victory following Sunday's surging victory at the 2012 PGA Championship. McIlroy entered the day in the lead at 7-under and finished the round at 13-under for the tournament, shooting a 6-under on Sunday.
David Lynn finished in second place, but he was eight strokes behind McIlroy. Last year's winner, Keegan Bradley, was close behind Lynn and 4-under. Seung-Yul Noh had the best round on Sunday, shooting a 7-under 65.
Colorado State alumnus Martin Laird rebounded from his horrible Round 3, which left him at 8-over for the tournament, and shot a 4-under 68 on Sunday to finish at 4-over. He started off Round 4 with a bogey on the par-4 10th hole, but he made birdie in the next three holes. He sank two more birdies on his final nine in the sixth and ninth holes.
