Russia's Sergey Kirdyapkin took gold in the men's 50 kilometer racewalk final at the Summer Olympics on Saturday with a final time of 3:35:59, which stands as a new Olympic record.

The United States' John Nunn, who is from Durango, CO, finished in 43rd place with a time of 4:03:28. The time was a personal best for Nunn. He was the only athlete from the U.S. in the final.
