The United States are in a tight race with China for most medals at the 2012 Olympics in London, but dropped one off the pace after Wednesday's action. Here is the latest 8-bit medal count video from SB Nation Studios:
Olympic Medal Count: China Edges USA for Most Overall (via sbnation)
The U.S. picked up a flurry of medals in swimming on Wednesday and also picked up a bronze medal in men's individual all-around gymnastics, yet it was not enough to keep up with the Chinese, who picked up medals in badminton and went one-two in both women's table tennis and men's 77kg weightlifting. They also picked up their fourth diving gold on Wednesday. The U.S. may be able to catch China on Thursday as the swimming events chug again.
Wednesday was also a good day for Great Britain, who picked up their first gold of the games in women's pair rowing and grabbed another gold when national hero Bradley Wiggins won the men's individual time trial in cycling.
