Summer Olympics Results: Bradley Wiggins Captures Gold In Men's Cycling Individual Time Trial

Great Britain's Bradley Wiggins can add another quality victory to his career record. After winning the 2012 Tour de France -- the first Briton to do it in 99 tries -- Wiggins took gold in the 2012 London Olympics' men's individual time trial with a finish time of 50:39.54.

The finish to the time trial saw plenty of movement, and Wiggins was the penultimate rider to take the course. The last rider, Fabian Cancellara, failed to give chase to Wiggins. Germany's Tony Martin did hold the lead for a few seconds, but ultimately Wiggins out did him by 42 seconds, taking the silver. Wiggins' teammate, Christopher Froome, finished in third for the bronze with a +1:08.33 gap ahead of him.

Boulder, Colorado's, Taylor Phinney finished in fourth place at 52:38.07. Upon his finish, he was in second place, but that last for a few fleeting moments.
