2012 Tour de France Results: Chris Froome Wins Stage 7; Bradley Wiggins Captures Yellow Jersey

In a surprise victory on Stage 7 of the 2012 Tour de France, Chris Froome took home the best time on the uphill climb to the finish line. Dealing with a last stretch of climb that began at 14 percent and reached over 20 percent, he pulled ahead of 2011 Tour winner Cadel Evans over the final 100 meters for the victory.

Bradley Wiggins finished just two seconds behind Froome to finish in third place. That will be good enough to put him in the yellow jersey, taking it away from Fabian Cancellara. Cancellara had worn the maillot jaune since he won the prologue one week ago. Evans is in second place and behind by 10 seconds.

Here are the top 10 finishers for Stage 7:

1. Chris Froome, 4:58:35
2. Cadel Evans, +0:02
3. Bradley Wiggins, s.t.
4. Vincenzo Nibali, +0:07
5. Rein Taaramae, +0:19
