London Olympics Results: Missy Franklin Helps USA To Bronze In Women's 4x100m Freestyle Relay

The United States is among the early leaders in the medal count, now holding a total of five medals. The latest comes in the Women's 4x100 meter freestyle relay, finishing in third place for the bronze with a time of 3:34.24.

Colorado's own Missy Franklin won her first Olympic medal by swimming the first leg of this event. The first 100 meters took 53.52 seconds to complete, at which point the remainder of the race rested on her teammates: Jessica Hardy, Lia Neal and Allison Schmitt. Ultimately, however, it was Australia that captured the gold medal.

Alicia Coutts helped Australia to a new Olympic record with a finishing time of 3:33.15. Inge Dekker and the Netherlands took the silver medal with time of 3:33.79. See the complete results here.
