Stage 14 of the 2012 Tour de France was a wild one down the stretch. Luis Leon Sanchez took home the victory, but there were several flat tires in the final run to Foix. Cadel Evans, the 2011 Tour winner, was the most notable of riders to suffer punctures on the course.

The NBC Sports Network broadcast reported that French radio learned of tacks being thrown onto the course where those tire punctures occurred. NBCSN eventually had an image of a tire puncture to confirm the tacks.

Peter Sagan finished second in a group of riders who were 47 seconds behind Sanchez. He has likely wrapped up the green jersey for points victory. The peloton was +18:15 behind. Bradley Wiggins finished in the peloton, but he still maintains a +2:05 lead over Christopher Froome for the general classification lead.
