On Wednesday, Boulder's Garmin-Sharp-Barracuda was announced as a participant in the 2012 USA Pro Cycling Challenge, which will take place in the Rocky Mountains from August 20 through August 26. This is the second straight year in which the USA Pro Challenge has taken place in Colorado, with last year's event attracting over 1 million spectators. This year's course will be 683 miles long and will feature more than 42,000 feet of vertical climbing.
