2012 NCAA Baseball Tournament Scores: Arizona Defeats St. John's, 7-4, Booking Trip To College World Series

The Arizona Wildcats are the first team to book a trip to the College World Series in the 2012 NCAA Baseball Tournament. They defeated the St. John's Red Storm, 7-4, in Game 2 of the best-of-three series on Saturday afternoon.

The Wildcats won Game 1, 7-6, after overcoming a 5-0 deficit in the fourth inning and ultimately prevailing in the 10th inning. In Game 2, Arizona never trailed after starting off with a three-run first inning at Hi Corbett Field, former spring training home for the Colorado Rockies. Three straight singles scored the three runs. The offense went on to score one run in the second, two in the seventh and one in the ninth.

Seth Mejias-Brean went 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored. Bobby Brown drove in two runs. Arizona starter Konner Wade threw a complete game, allowing those four runs (two earned) on six hits.

Seven more teams are waiting to book trips to Omaha, Neb., for the College World Series.
