The Stony Brook Seawolves entered the 2012 NCAA Baseball Tournament as a No. 4 seed, but they are just one victory away from heading to the Super Regionals. The No. 2 Central Florida Knights, however, stand in the way of that happening. The Knights edged out the Seawolves on Saturday, 9-8, in the first game of the winner's bracket, but under the double-elimination rules of the tournament, Stony Brook had another chance to survive.
On Sunday, Stony Brook eliminated the Missouri St. Bears, 10-7, and then evened the regional series against UCF in a possible elimination game by picking up a 12-5 run. This has forced a decisive Game 7 on Monday night.
The winner of this game will face Kevin Gausman and the LSU Tigers, the No. 7 national seed in the tournament, in the Super Regionals this upcoming weekend.
This game will take place at Alex Rodriguez Park in Coral Gables, Fla., at 5:00 p.m. MT
MLB Draft Prospect to Watch: Travis Jankowski, OF, Stony Brook
