The No. 1 national seed Florida Gators are one victory away from wrapping up the Gainesville, Fla., regional, for which they are the hosts. The Gators have already beaten the since-eliminated Bethune-Cookman Wildcats and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. However, the Gators don't know yet the team they will face on Sunday night.
That will be decided on Sunday afternoon when the Yellow Jackets face the College of Charleston in an elimination game. Tech has already beaten Charleston in this portion of the bracket, taking the opening game by a score of 8-4. One-time Colorado Rockies draftee Brandon Thomas hit a three-run home run for Tech in that victory.
Tech and Charleston will play at 10:00 a.m. MT and can be seen on ESPN 2. The winner will only have a few hours to spare before facing Florida at 4:00 p.m. MT. That game will be shown on ESPN3.com
Should Florida lose the Sunday night game, a true elimination game will take place on Monday night against the winner of Tech-Charleston.
