College All-Americans 2012: Baseball America Names Marco Gonzales, Kevin Gausman And Rockies Draftee Matt Wessinger To Teams

The 2012 College World Series field has been narrowed down to three teams -- the Arizona Wildcats await either the Arkansas Razorbacks or the South Carolina Gamecocks in the best-of-three final round -- but there are plenty of talented baseball players that deserve specific, individual recognition for their achievements during the year. Baseball America's 2012 College All-America team was released on Friday (the staff of Baseball America selected the All-America teams after the first weekend of the College World Series), and several players with local ties made the cut.

Ft. Collins native Marco Gonzales made the first-team as a utility player after posting a .325/.372/.430 line for Gonzaga, while Colorado Rockies draftee Matt Wessinger (pick No. 168 in the 2012 MLB Draft) earned third-team honors thanks in part to his stellar 348/.435/.486 triple-slash line for St. John's.

Finally, pre-season All-American pitcher and Colorado-native Kevin Gausman -- selected No. 4 overall by the Baltimore Orioles in the 2012 MLB Draft -- made the second-team by racking up a 12-2 record and 2.77 ERA for LSU.
