2012 College World Series Scores: Arizona Clobbers Florida St., 10-3, On Way To CWS Title Series

The Arizona Wildcats are the first team to head to the College World Series' best-of-three championship finals. They beat the Florida St. Seminoles, 10-3, on Thursday evening to remain undefeated and improve to 3-0 in Omaha.

Arizona starter Kurt Heyer continued his strong postseason with 7.1 innings of two-run ball, allowing nine hits, walking three batters and striking out three. Tyler Crawford closed out the game for Arizona, allowing a ninth-inning run.

Florida State's pitching, on the other hand, extended to eight men making appearances. Freshman lefty Brandon Leibrandt got tagged for six runs in the first inning, though two scored after he left the game. His final line was one-third of an inning pitched with three hits allowed and two walks. Only two of those runs were earned as a result of three errors in the inning, including one by Leibrandt.

In the fourth inning, Arizona struck for four more runs, including two home runs: a Robert Refsnyder solo shot and a Bobby Brown two-run blast. Joey Rickard singled in the other run later in the inning.

Arizona is off until Sunday and will wait to see if they will play either Arkansas or South Carolina. Should Arkansas win Thursday night's game, the CWS title series will be set. If South Carolina pulls out the victory, previously losing to Arkansas, 2-1, a showdown takes place on Friday. South Carolina is looking for a third straight CWS title.
