The 2012 College World Series will have a tripleheader at TD Ameritrade Park on Thursday. Inclement weather on Wednesday night forced an elimination game between the Kent St. Golden Flashes and the South Carolina Gamecocks first into a two-hour rain delay before postponing the game to Thursday at 10 a.m. MT.
The winner of that game will go on to play the Arkansas Razorbacks in yet another elimination game. However, a loss won't eliminate Arkansas, already 2-0 in the double-elimination tournament. Another game would be played on Friday to determine the winner of Bracket 2 and a spot in the College World Series title series. While there is an offday on Saturday, it was decided not to interrupt that break in the schedule.
The other game pits the Arizona Wildcats against the Florida St. Seminoles. Arizona outlasted Florida St. for a 4-3 victory in 12 innings during an opening CWS game. A win for Arizona sends them to the title series while a Florida St. victory forces a decisive elimination game on Friday for both teams.
Here is Thursday's schedule:
Kent St. vs. South Carolina, 10:00 a.m. MT, ESPN2
Arizona vs. Florida St. 3:00 p.m. MT, ESPN2
Arkansas vs. Kent St.-South Carolina winner, 7:00 p.m. MT, ESPN2
