The South Carolina Gamecocks just can't lose in Omaha, as they hold a 12-game winning streak at the College World Series. They also are on a 22-game postseason winning streak. On Saturday night, the Gamecocks sent the No. 1 national seed Florida Gators to a 7-3 defeat. On Monday, South Carolina plays on in the winner's bracket and faces the Arkansas Razorbacks (who beat Kent. St., 8-1).
This game will feature a pitching contest between Arkansas RHP Ryne Stanek (7-4, 2.91 ERA) and South Carolina RHP Colby Holmes (7-1, 2.80 ERA). For prospect watchers, Stanek just missed being draft-eligible as a sophomore in 2012, turning 21 years old a few days too late. Get an early look at one of the top 2013 pitching prospects while he pitches in Omaha -- if you haven't already seen him this postseason.
The winner goes on to a Thursday game while the loser will play for its life on Wednesday against the wnner of Kent St.-Florida.
