In the top of the 12th inning, Joey Rickard hit a one-out double to left center field against Robert Benincasa, who pitched the final four innings of the game for the Seminoles. Joey Field then immediately followed with a double of his own, scoring Rickard for the go-ahead run. Benincasa intentionally walked Alex Mejia but was able to get Robert Refsnyder and Seth Mejias-Brean out to end the inning.

Florida State tried to get something going against Arizona's Matthew Troupe once Seth Miller reached on a hit by pitch. Miller moved up to second base on a wild pitch and then found himself at third base after a groundout by Sherman Johnson. But it was all for naught. Devon Travis struck out swinging to end the game.

The College World Series continues on Saturday with games in Bracket 2 between Kent St. and Arkansas and South Carolina and Florida.
