2012 College World Series Scores: Arizona, Florida State Head To Extras Tied At 3-3

The Arizona Wildcats and the Florida St. Seminoles will need extra innings to decide Game 2 of the 2012 College World Series with the score tied at three each. After holding a 3-1 lead through 5-1/2 innings, the Wildcats saw that advantage disappear in the bottom half of the sixth inning. No team was able to push a run across home plate of the remainder of regulation.

The bottom of the sixth inning began with a fielding error by Seth Mejias-Brean, allowing Jayce Boyd to reach first base. Kurt Heyer struck out the next two batters, but he walked Josh Delph after that. John Holland then knocked the ball to left center field for two runs and a 3-3 tie.

Heyer, who went 9.1 innings in his previous start, went 7.2 innings this time and struck out eight.

The winner of this game will play UCLA while the loser faces elimination in a contest against Stony Brook.
