US Open 2012: Martin Laird Even Through 10 In Second Round, +7 For Tournament

If Colorado St. alum Martin Laird is going to make the cut at the 2012 U.S. Open, he better start stringing together some birdies. Through 10 holes on Saturday at The Olympic Club, Laird is at even-par. That would be fine if Laird didn't finish with a +7 score of 77 during Thursday's opening round.

The cut is currently projected at +5. The golfers are largely scoring better already on Friday than they did on Thursday.

Only four players are under-par at the moment, including Tiger Woods, who tees off today at 2:18 MT. American golfer Michael Thompson is leading the pack at -4.

Laird was sank by a pair of double-bogeys in the first round. Laird was +5 through six holes on Thursday, but rebounded to put himself to contention to make the cut.
